European Professional Club Rugby is delighted to announce that it has reached an agreement with France Télévisions for the broadcast rights in France to the European Rugby Champions Cup and the European Rugby Challenge Cup.
The deal which runs for four years from 2014/15 to the end of the 2017/18 season will see France Télévisions continue a 19-year association with European professional club rugby.
This means that EPCR has now completed its television broadcast agreements in France having already announced an exciting new partnership with beIN SPORTS which also runs for four seasons.
The strong platform means that for the first time in the key French market all the games in Europe's premier club tournament will be televised live.
France Télévisions will broadcast a top match in all rounds of the European Rugby Champions Cup as well as one match in the European Rugby Challenge Cup. Both of these matches will also be televised live by beIN SPORTS who will in addition show every Champions Cup match live.
René Fontes, EPCR Director and Executive Committee member, said : "We are delighted that the television coverage of the competitions in France is now agreed and we welcome both France Télévisions, who have been associated with European professional club rugby since its inception in 1995, and beIN SPORTS as our broadcast partners for the next four years. This new partnership along with our sale of TV rights in other territories will see a major increase in EPCR's broadcast revenues."
