Harlequins combines with the Household Cavalry Foundation for Big Game 6

Harlequins has announced that the Household Cavalry Foundation (HCF) will be the official charity for Big Game 6 when the Club plays Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday December 28th (kick-off 4:00pm).

The Household Cavalry Foundation cares for and supports the soldiers, casualties, veterans, horses and heritage of the British Army's most senior Regiments. The Foundation, which is entirely funded by donations from the public, will use Big Game 6 as a fundraising platform with a five pound donation being made from every replica Big Game 6 shirt.

Colonel Stuart Cowen, Colonel of Household Cavalry and Royal Armoured Corps commented : "As Chairman of the Household Cavalry Foundation, we are delighted to be partnering with Harlequins for Big Game 6.

"Proceeds from the Big Game donations will be used to support all Household Cavalry Regimental Family welfare requirements which is particularly important now, as we draw down our troops in Afghanistan and our thoughts turn to the future, where we need to be able to cater not just for the physical injuries, but also the long term psychological injuries.

"On behalf of the servicemen and women of the Household Cavalry and wider Armed Forces, thank you for your generous support, I hope you enjoy the match. Come on you Quins!''

David Ellis, Harlequins Chief Executive added, "As a Club, we are all really looking forward to this year's event as it promises to be another great family festive day out.

"Alongside the rugby and entertainment, the Big Game is our opportunity to help support worthy causes and this year we're very proud to be partnering with the Household Cavalry Foundation. Over the last year, we have been working with the Foundation and have been able to see at first-hand the great and valuable work they do for their soldiers, veterans and their families.

"The HCF is a fantastic charity and we hope to help raise a lot of money for them on December 28th."
