Land Rover puts grassroots rugby center stage ahead of Premiership Rugby season

Land Rover is the Official Vehicle Partner of Premiership Rugby and to help launch the 2015/16 Premiership Rugby season, Land Rover met with all 12 Premiership Rugby club captains, to help prepare the vast amount of essential kit that Land Rover provides to each Premiership Rugby club to help support the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup. This kit includes, rugby balls, tackle bags, post protectors, training bibs, referee shirts and corner flags.

The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is a nationwide tournament for under 11 and under 12 teams, with over 7,000 youngsters taking part each season. The long running grassroots rugby tournament was the first of its kind to be officiated by Premiership Rugby and is run in conjunction with all twelve Premiership Rugby clubs and supported by Land Rover since its inception.

The Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup has been running for seven seasons and Land Rover has been there for the entire journey, investing in grassroots rugby to give youngsters the chance to realise their rugby dreams.

A graduate of the Newcastle Falcons Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, Callum Chick, has since gone on to win a professional contract with the Falcons and represent England at U18 level. Chick credits the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup with his development and this season could see another future star in the making unearthed through the regional events.

Land Rover is fully committed to the support of grassroots rugby and even used its position as a Worldwide Partner of Rugby World Cup 2015 to shine a spotlight on the grassroots aspect of rugby, so as to champion the heart and soul of the game. This involved focusing on grassroots rugby clubs from around the world as part of its 'We Deal In Real' campaign. The campaign also extended to the recruitment of all 96 official mascots for the tournament. The majority of these mascots (youngsters aged 7-13) were selected from the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, so as to inspire the next generation of rugby stars from the host nation.
